August 26th, 2024 Dear Love N’ Learn Families, We want to first thank you for your commitment to Love N’ Learn Early Childhood Center and your patience with our renovation project. Secondly, we would like to provide you with updated information regarding our progress and anticipated opening. As previously mentioned, due to construction delays that are beyond our control, we have had to delay our anticipated opening date. As of Friday August 23rd, 2024, we were able to obtain a temporary certificate of occupancy for the PreK spaces, (the North and South wings of the facility). This allowed for furniture to be delivered Monday, August 26th, 2024. There is a wonderful team currently assembling that delivery, and our classrooms are coming together beautifully. This step has brought excitement and hope to our team, bringing us one step closer to licensure and opening. At this time, we are awaiting fire approval from the office of the State Fire Marshall. Once received, we will be able to begin the licensing amendment process with KDHE. Please know that we are doing everything in our power to move this process along, and are working diligently to get students in our building. Due to the unpredictable nature of this project, we are not able to provide an exact opening yet. However, we remain hopeful that PreK will commence in September, pending no further delays with construction or licensing. Infant and toddler programs are set to open in stages following the PreK opening. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused your family. Dear Parents, We are very fortunate to operate a food service program for St. Mary's Grade School/Sacred Heart Jr./Sr. High School and Love N Learn Early Childhood Center. Each building has unique needs serving our students ages 2- 18 years old. Our schools follow the guidelines of the US Department of Agriculture's National School Lunch Program. Included in our services we provide Breakfast (for LNL Daycare), afternoon snacks (for Extended Care) and offer A la carte items, during lunch, for Sacred Heart Jr./Sr. High students. Food prices have risen about 20%, this increase is reflected in this year's lunch prices. We participate in offering free and reduced lunches. Please consider applying for this program as it helps our school's keep costs down as well as applying for other government programs. Included in this communication are the Free and Reduced lunch applications as well as our policies of late meal charges and non discrimination. We are proud of our personnel that serve our student's nutritional needs. Please feel free to stop by to reserve a meal for yourself. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I wanted to inform you of an important change regarding our communication methods. Effective immediately, we will use our new mobile app and website as our primary means of communication with families. This will streamline our communication efforts and ensure that all information reaches you in a timely and organized manner. What’s Changing? 1. New Mobile App: Our new Salina Catholic Schools mobile app will serve as our central hub for all school-related communications. This platform will allow us to share announcements, calendars, newsletters, and important updates directly with you. a.
